MobileHomestead?

Why do I use the word MobileHomestead?

Well the obvious answer is that we currently live in a mobile home. We'd like to leave but like most people these days it is not in the budget. Our dream is to get our own piece of property, but thats not in the near future, so we are keeping ourselves limited in what we own so we can pick up and go the minute our new property comes to us. We will garden in movable raised beds and containers that can be easily taken to a new place and the lawn restored for new occupants.

For the future, we have picked 2 different plans for our home:
One - small easily movable new homes (one for me, one for the kids, and one for mom) called the Lusby, from Tumbleweed homes. This way we can begin working on them where we live, and they do not require the permits that fixed housing projects need. They are small, can be built very Green, and have a smaller footprint than most homes. We will limit our storage shed to 12x12 so that we may move it easily as well.
OR
Two - a  Sebastarosa with the third bedroom option, also by Tumbleweed homes. I figure the kids could make one of their own for their family.

3/30/12 update: up until now I had thought that I'd need someone to build the houses for me, but I ran into a young lady that has given me the courage to try it out myself. So when it comes time, its gonna be one heck of an adventure!

We look forward to the future, but we work toward it everyday with what we already have. Even the smallest steps get us there!
